Middlesex 378, Meymott's (Dalton & Hamer, page 139) Denomination: halfpenny, scarcity: Scarce 378. O: Britannia seated holding a pair of scales and a spear. MEYMOTT & SON LONDON. Ex.: 1795. Similar to No. 377, but no crosses in the legend, and the spear reaches the edge of the coin between "SON" and "LONDON." R: The arms of London. SCALES + WEIGHTS + & + STEEL-YARDS + E: CORNER OF WORMWOOD STREET BISHOPSGATE X In raised letters. 378a. E: Plain (not in collar). No. 378 was struck in gold, silver and copper; 378a in tin and copper. No. 378a, RR. 378, scarce.
