2. O: A monogram cypher. The down strokes of the monogram are solid, and there
      is a period after date, which is in a straight line.
   R: SIX PENCE.

Struck upon octagonal, and also round flans.

These, also those for penny and halfpenny, were struck for the sole use of the
boys of Christ's Hospital, and were known as "Housey-Money." It was illegal 
for boys to make purchases outside the gates, or to retain possession of
current coin; it was changed by one of the beadles.
