Middlesex 13, Christ's Hospital (Dalton & Hamer, page 90)

13. O: A monogram cypher. The date 1800 under. This piece is of finer work than
       any of the others; it has a beaded rim.
    R: PENNY across the centre of the field with a sprig above and below.

These were struck for the sole use of the boys of Christ's Hospital, and were 
known as "Housey-Money." It was illegal for boys to make purchases outside the 
gates, or to retain possession of current coin; it was changed by one of the 
beadles.

No. 13 was struck on thick and thin flans. The letters on those of the thin 
flan are usually solid.

Also in silver (Addenda, page 540). Silver version wasn't traced (page 556).

Nos. 9-13, scarce in fine condition.
